Lazy Friday - Day 15

After a long, boring week at work; a laid back, low maintenance Friday evening was in order. But I'm telling you, this is just the proverbial calm before the storm!! Super Bowl sloppiness next Sunday, and then I fly out to Baltimore for 3 days of bid-ness...where big ass streak and baked potato dinners will be well within the reach of my corporate AMEX...

I did fairly well for food....not grrreat, not horrible. I was talking with a.e. earlier today about my Friday splurges. I do so well during the week, eating in small doses, passing up on office food freebies, working out like a man possessed...then BLAMO. Friday drops. BK goes on an evening bender. I think all of my impulses explode into Supernova when im out and about. my sensibilities seem to take a night off here and there.

We hit up BW3 for some cheap chicken, knowing full well the caloric magnitude of this place. i think i did fine, blackened chicken caesar salad....but honestly, it took ALL of my restraint not to smash 10 mango habernero wings and onion rings!!

This concerns me long term. exhale.

Daytime:
coffee, coffee, coffee
O.J. Simpson = 60 cal.
apple cereal bar = 130 cal.
lean cuisine spaghetti and meatballs = 270 cal.
pretzels = 100 cal.
cheeze its = 100 calories. (i know, changed it up a bit, found them in the back of the pantry)

Evening:
Michelob Ultra 2.5 @ 93 cal. = 225 cal.
chips and salsa/queso dip = 200 cal.
grilled chicken salad = 425 cal.
glass of Cabernet savauignon = 75 cal.
white ruskie (dessert, dude!! plus my 1% milk is about to expire!) = 200 cal.
candy = 100 cal.

No Workout. I needed a mutha effin day off!! Excuse my French.

Friday food total = 1885 calories

Day 13 and 14 food recaps:

Happy Friday people. For the first time in 2010, I'm staring blankly at a calm, low key weekend....and I need it. I have a date with destiny next Sunday....the Super Bowl. I have a 7th annual SB party to attend that usually crosses the line of culinary decadence....more on that later...

Anyway, as previously stated, I have usually been kicking ass during the week with regard to my food intake. Both Wednesday and Thursday this week were no exceptions....work, workout, tv (No Reservations: Anthony Bourdain), sleep.

Wednesday
Daytime:
Strawberry (higher fiber) pop tart = 190 cal.
Lean Cuisine lasagna = 320 cal.
satchel of pretzels = 110 cal.
Night:
pesto and chorizo gnocchi = roughly 575 cal.
bread = 100 cal.
cheese/crackers (appetizer, and i didn't even have much gouda left) = 75 cal.
candy (while reading my book, sue me) = 75 cal.

WORKOUT: I hit it hard. It was OF COURSE busy as hell. I was relegated to the backup set of lockers again...and then when I hit the cardio area, EVERY SINGLE TREADMILL AND ELLIPTICAL WERE TAKEN!!! WHAT THE F?? I was literally stuck. I had no idea what to do...lol. After running (pun) a few options through my head (i hate stationary bikes and rowing machines) i decided to hit the 3rd floor track. I NEVER go up there. Anyway, apparently 10 times around was a mile, which seemed scary at first, but I quickly hammered those out.

It did feel good to actually run my normal distance (1.5 mile) free of the restricting tready, but DAMN my legs hurt...ancillary muscles that were probably dormant for the last 6 years suddenly came ALIIIIIVE....more on that later...

Wednesday Calorie total = 1475

Thursday
Daytime:

Strawberry pop tart = 190 calories
1/2 Turkey, sprout, and caramelized onion sandwich (from La Bodega in Tremont, freakin awesome!!) = 400 cal.
bag of baked lays = 140 cal.

Night (yeah, don't laugh):
potato chips, = 175 cal.
popcorn (buttered, probably heavy) = 250 cal.?
2 Amstel Light @ 95 = 190 cal.

WORKOUT: Yes, but it was challenging. I think my trooper of a body finally gave up on me. I've really been gettin' after it these past few weeks, rarely taking days off...I ran about a mile on the treadmill, and I was FEELING it. I could barely finish...sigh. Hit a few of my regular machines and exercises, and just had to call it a day.

My dinner was quite pathetic...but I can explain. I literally had 15 minutes after I got home from working out before Mitch (name changed to protect the innocent) was picking me up for date night. Since no chick wanted to see AVATAR, we decided to go together...what a great movie. I think we were the only two people on the planet who had not seen this flick yet (well, besides most of the chicks we know).

It was quite the 3D spectacle, it lived up to the Crazy Train of hype that Hollywood has been spewing. I highly recommend it....those 3D graphics were AMAZING!!! Very revolutionary....though I don't know what the hell they're going to do when that piece hits DVD store shelves...

Thursday Caloric grand total = 1250 Calories!!

Day 12 recap - Tuesday the 26th

Alright. So i'm fresh off of a successful Monday, rolled that right into a happy weigh in....and what do I do?? Go to the Brew Kettle in Strongsville and fat it up!!

Now before you, the reader, chastises me for not sticking to my plan, I'll have you know that A. this has been planned for months, and 2. nobody likes fun beer more than I do.....aaaand, I'm all about moderation these days baby.

Now I talk about my home brewing experience lightly, but it was indeed loads of fun. I highly recommend this to everyone as a Team Building Exercise. I brewed an India Pale Ale (IPA, durr.) with a few friends that i literally haven't seen since college...im talking 8 years here people.

Anyway, so we went through the entire 2 hour process, caught up on life, tipped a few back, et al. All of this manually intensive labor really works up an appetite, i tell ya. Another fun nuance of this place is that they have superb food. By this point, my friends have reeeeally been talking up the food, so i couldn't wait to grub.

So i sit down and have a casual look over the menu, on the prowl for something, anything remotely healthy. Here is the abridged version of what i found:

Barbecue chicken, barbecue chicken wings, barbecue spaghetti (no lie), beef brisket, "sloppy" nachos, the Backyard bbq sampler, barbecue pulled pork dinner, pulled pork sandwich, ultimate mess barbecue pulled pork salad, pulled pork wrap, beef brisket wrap, buffalo chicken dip, cheddar hot dog, fish and chips, buffalo chicken sandwich, barbecue St. Louis ribs.

Now THAT is a menu chocked full of healthy eating options. I'll give you one guess at what I ordered....come on, cooome on...it's in there...buried. Look real hard.

Yep, you've guessed it: the Ultimate Mess BBQ Pulled Pork SALAD.

Now, I wouldn't normally go all out and call this thing a salad. It was basically a bed of romaine, 3 croutons, 2 cherry tomatoes, 3 lbs. of barbecue pulled pork slathered over that, and then a top layer of creamy cole slaw. Wow. 'Twas yummy. I walked away 'unfortunately satisfied'....if that's a word.

Daytime (yeah....crap i totally forgot that i grabbed sushi rock for lunch with a business partner friend of mine!!):
OJ = 50 cal.
cereal bar = 130 cal.
cup of miso soup = 85 cal.??
sushi (more regular AND white tuna, my freakin favorites!!) = 200 cal.
philadelphia maki rolls = 250 cal.

Night:
the aforementioned pulled pork salad = 700 calories?? (i didn't eat it all, i swear)
3 house pale ales @175 = 525 cal.
1 house light beer = 125 cal.?

Workout: Um no. The closest i came to burning any calories was vigorously turning a hand crank to break down the 2 different types of grains/barley.

Tuesday the 26th Grand Total = about 2055 Calories

Not too too horrible, considering....

Moving in the Right Direction - Jan. 25th

Tuesday morning weigh in time!!

As usual, I'll cut to the chase:

216.6

change from last week = - 2 lbs.

I'm quite excited by this week's weight loss...though overall i knew i did well this week. This puts me down roughly 3.5 lbs. in January. I'm not going to go high fiving anyone, or slapping any butts here, but I feel reeeeeeally good about this, and I can't wait to get AFTER it this week. there's still a long road ahead, but i think i'm really doing it this time.

Monday, January 25th Food recap:

Daytime:
365 cereal bar = 130 calories
dannon fruit at the bottom yogurt = 150 cal.
lean cuisine spaghetti and meatballz = 270 cal.

Night time:
homemade tortilla chips = 180 cal.
home made salsa (i know, i'm awesome) = 50 cal.
1/2 of a chorizo and goat cheese quesadilla = 210 cal.?

workout: I did my standard 24-ish minute run, and hammered out a trip around the circuit train.

Monday Grand Total = 990 calories!!!

I really ended my "week" on a high note. I'm pretty sure that my Calorie count was quite accurate, and that I indeed made it under 1000!!! Word.

Sunday the 24th, subtitled Parma is Skeezy

Parma, Parma, Parma. Now I generally don't have anything against ALL people from Parma...but Parma is indeed skeezy. Watched a little football with my boy out in Parma for his 35th (yeah, he's freakin old). He had me meet him and his crew (2 other people) at some creepy ass, scrappy Parmesian sports bar. no offense to any of you 3 readers, especially to my other Penn State obsessed, Parmesian friend, but there are some sloppy people in Parma. i antiquate it to going to a walmart. anywhere.

I didn't have much of a choice for food and drink. $1 miller lite drafts are good in my book. They had a standard Panini's-esque menu, and besides the 1 salad offering, I think I chose the next best thing....oh and I also went sans french fries.

brunch:
chorizo and veggie scramble (i know, i'm so clever)
- chorizo 2.5oz - ish = 200 calories
- 2 eggs @70 per = 140 cal.
- cheese = 70 ish cal.
triscuits = 130 cal.

suppa:
grilled chicken wrap from sketchy Parma bar = 600 cal. i'm guessing? maybe 700
miller lite drafts - 8 @95 = 760 cal.
1 patron shot (it WAS his birthday) = 65 cal.

workout:
yes, in anticipation of the Parmesian gluttony, i hit the rec again. i made it through another 1.5 run/walk, totalling up 180 cal. I moved around a few weights too, tried doing some goofy new exercises....i basically used Sunday as an experimental exercise day since it was so dead. fun fun, i highly recommend it for anyone afraid of gym people.

Sunday Funday grand total = 1965 (ish)

I'm out. I have another huge Tuesday morning weigh in to attend to!!! I'm scared....though i think i was fairly disciplined this week, no??

Saturday Speakeasy

I had a nice little Saturday. I sleazed my way out of bed at 11:00 and made up a solid brunch, got a run in, did some "shopping", and made a moderately healthy supper...all in preparation for a friend's 30th birthday party at Bier Markt.

I was, of course, stressing. I take extreme measures to workout on the weekend, NOT snack in between meals, and choose those meals wisely....but then it will all inevitably get ruined when I go out.

In order to combat these stresses, I did a little research. Back when I lost 20 pounds the second time (senior year at Kent), I forged a solid relationship with a bottled beer out of Amsterdam, Amstel Light.

Back in the day, before all of these current MGD 64, Becks ultra light, and Michelob ultra...Amstel Light was the only fun, smart, classy low calorie beer. Amstel is a little higher end, and has a nice taste, it works. The ultimate beauty though is the fact that each bottle sits comfortably at 93 calories USD.

Amstel Light may be my new best friend. Shout out:

Brunch:
1 egg poached = 70 cal.
2 slices of bac-y = 150 cal.
home fries (baked with rosemary and a touch of evoo) = 150 cal.
1 piece of toast = 100 cal.?

Supper:
1/2 of a chicken breast (steamed in oven in garlic, rosemary and balsamic) = 120 cal.
bacon wrapped asparagus = 125 calories
couscous (a bed for the chicken) = 300 cal.?

NIGHTIME (i know, this is once again where it gets dicey):
5 bottles Amstel Light @93 cal. = 480
PBR can = 140 cal.
chips = 200 cal.

Workout: Yessshh!! I actually made it out to the CSU rec on a Saturday. Miracles do indeed happen. It was packed too, I was surprised. Regardless, I had a nice little 1.5 mile run, and abused a few machines for another 30 minutes. Good stuff. I really felt good after this one.

My Saturday grand total = 1830 calories!!! Oh snap. This isn't as bad as I thought.

Would you care for some warm Sake?

Two day food Recap....coming up.

Friday:
Friday was a throwaway. I need a mulligan, a re-do, something. I should be entitled to one or two of these, right?? Friday was also the tale of two nights. Everything was fine during the day, normal, no snacking, good stuff (around 600 calories).

Anyway, so Friday evening started nice. Happy hour with some of my lady friends resulted in selections of hummus, calamari...and 3 glasses of Shiraz. Yikes!! While they continued dirty martini's in Tremont, I met up with the boys downtown.

I suppose things started out fine. My suburban buddy picked Pickwick and Frolic to meet up at over on E. 4th...and I was a good boy. I had 2 Amstel Lights, which are like 95 cal. apiece. We then quickly migrated over to Wonder Bar for another....and BAM!! CHRISTMAS ALE IN JANUARY!! What the F? They still had GLBC x-mas ale on tap....so that was obviously a no-brianer.

AAAAAAAAND, this dumb bar had $3 jello shots to aid the Haitian relief efforts. Really, you ask...yes. $1 of my sh*tty $3 jello shot is going to Haiti!!! I made a difference!!

All in all, after totalling up the 2 christmas ales, 3 glasses of wine, the Amstel, food, etc...I'm waaay over my daily goal, something to the tune of mid-2000's. I won't even justify it with a number, but will look DIRECTLY at my Saturday afternoon workout. F.

Thursday:

Daytime
All of the usual suspects, ie. pop tart, salad, satchel of pretzels. Good to go.

Nighttime
I found myself on the east side for a business meeting (Beachwood, cuz that's where all of the shrewd businessmen reside)....so Thursday 1/2 price sushi at Sushi Rock was in order.

I researched the caloric counts of all of the standard maki rolls and regular sushi over rice. I was prepared. I had a plan, and stuck to it. One Sapporo tall boy, one order of tuna sushi, one white tuna sushi order (shiro maguro; this stuff is what dreams are made of, and this Sushi Rock nailed the freshness)...one sixer of Spicy Tuna Maki rolls. Boom. 690 Calories, and I was full.

Now, I did take a short walk on the dark side. I was plugged in my chair before my date was, and the blondie server rolled up looking for a drink order. I ordered up the aforementioned Sapporo's, and then was posed the following question:

"Would you care for some warm Sake?? It's on me."

Now, as you navigate through life, you are posed certain questions, and inevitably have to make certain decisions. If a blonde server at Sushi Rock EVER asks you if you'd like a large carafe of warm sake...on the house...you say YES.

1500 calories, no workout, Sake

Day 7, January 20th

Yo, yo, yo. Another successful day on the eating front. I'm starting to believe that if don't consume alcohol, and stay home all the time, I might just make my goal!!!

All silliness aside, my problem is definitely NOT Monday - Thursday....it's these damn weekends, it's watching football, it's the parties, its the...blah blah blah. I need to find a new friend. I need a low calorie, high potent alcohol that can satisfy me and keep the good times rolling. Any ideas??

daytime:
Fiber One toaster pastry = 180 calories
1 can of high quality Bumble-bee albacore tuna = 120 cal.
yogurt - giant eagle brand = 80 cal.
salad....yes AGAIN!!!! = 225 cal.

dinner:
couscous (effin tasty by the way) = 300 cal.
cheese, meat, and cracker tray = 300 cal.
candy = 120 cal.

Wednesday's grandiose total = 1315 calories (don't stop a-rockin)

Workout: The CSU rec was packed as a mo-fo. I've been a member there for all of 3 months, but the b*tch was as packed as I've ever seen it. All of the damn lockers in the men's room were occupied!!! What the F is up with that?? For starters, the men's room lockers are 75% pay per use....to hell with that. I already fork over $40 bones a month, and now you want me to rent a small ass locker for another $30 per semester?? Nope.

I ended up changing, packing up my stuff, and then migrating to a general use locker area....which is thankfully next to the glass walled spinning room....

Speaking of Spinners....who ARE these people?? Weirdos. They all ride stationary bikes simulating the outdoors....how fun is that?? Just go buy a bike and ride outdoors. Anyway, the sweet CSU spinning room has a 6x6 projector screen simulating actual terrain!! Like an actual outdoorsy effect, up hills, around bends....lame. And these people GET INTO IT. They're all yelling at each other, cheering each other on, cheesy Brittany Spears music BLARING. Whatever. Attract more attention to yourself.

Anyway. I did manage to find 1 open treadmill, which happened to be my favorite tready btw, and hammered out a nice little 25 minute run/walk. Something to the tune of 1.5-1.75 miles....yeah, I got after it. Hit the weights a little after that, it's all good.

Day 6 - Tuesday Jan. 19th

Daytime:
strawberry pop tart = 180 calories
dannon fruit at the top strawberry yogurt (tmi, i know) = 150 cal.
1 serving of pretzel minis = 110 cal.
salad (balsamic dressing) = 225 cal.

night:
pork (almost carnitas) burrito (cheddar, sour cream, hot sauce) = 400 cal.??
homemade salsa (the number 1 condiment in America) = 50 cal.
lime tortilla chips = 300 cal. (basterds)
candy conversation hearts = 110 calories

Tuesday grand Calories total = 1525!!

Workout: Had a nice little 22 minute run/walk....though I had to switch treadmills halfway through. This was actually quite traumatizing....the tready that i chose was a piece of shit. Every step i took sounded like a thud, the whole thing would shudder... (it felt like in Indiana Jones 3, in the library, when Indy was trying to break through the floor and he timed it up with the librarian stamping the returned books...anyway)

OF COURSE THERE WAS A HOT CHICK next to me. I just felt like she was glaring at me, every single loud CLOMP! that i was making. just thinking to her hot self, "wow, that guy is really fat". Ehhh, so i switched. i had to get out of there with what little dignity i had left.

Week 1 weigh in - Man vs. Scale

I wont bore you, or myself with any excessive details (sure i will).

Here's the skinny (yeah, i couldn't resist that pukey pun):

218.5

As the weekly weigh-ins roll by, I'll have better "comparables" to highlight my journey. For now, I CAN whole heartily say that I'm down a little bit....maybe a pound or so from when I started this thing last week.

My goal will be to have a weekly, Tuesday morning weigh in....and if I'm going to meet my aggressive 25 lb. goal by the summer, then I'm going to HAVE to average at least a pound per week.

Meh. I want to say that I'm scared....and I am a bit. But i CAN DO THIS. I've done it before, and I just have to stay in the proper mindset.

cheers, i'm out

Day 5 - Monday food recap

Well. It's the final day of activity before my first weigh in. I must say that I kicked a little ass, and stayed completely on target....and after my indulgent weekend, i sure as hell needed it.

Now, i don't mean to sound all prophetic or wise or anything, but i think that my food documentation is actually beginning to pay off.

After supper last night, roughly around 8:30 or so, I got a craving. An nasty, nasty, sun of a bitch of a craving. I paced around the kitchen, opening cupboards, drawers, and the fridge....trying to find something to snack on.

funny enough, all that i could think of was, "what would my reader base (all 2 of them) think of me writing this down?" That's all i could think about. If i scratched down a serving of conversations hearts, or string cheese, ice cream, or a handful of sour cream and onion potato chips, what would they say?? i just didn't want to write anything more down....so i opted to head back to the couch, and turn Pawn Stars back on.

daytime:
- strawberry pop tart = 180 calories
- 1 cup of mixed berry yogurt = 80 cal.
- 1 can of sweet, sweet albacore tuna = 140 cal.
- salad (mozz., 1000 island) = 225 cal.??

night time:
- angel hair pasta w/ sun dried tomato pesto and asparagus = 400 cal.?
- glass of cab sauv. (gotta have it with pasta; one of the finer things in life) = 100 cal.
- candy cane (yeah, i have an S load of these lil' guys laying around) = 60 cal.
- cookie(s) = 90 cal.

Monday grand total = 1275 calories!!!

Workout: Yes, please. 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes or so on machines. Kind of a light workout, because I'm SERIOUSLY still sore from the weekend. what a friggin pansy.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Day 4 food recap

Lazy, lazy, Sunday. etc. etc.

Workout activities: Ummmm, no. My body is still in a hurt/shut down mode from the extreme Dodgeballing at 2:00 am in the morning Saturday.

Food log:

Day:
Red bull vodka = 50 calories
caesar side salad (@ panini's = crap) - 150 Cal.??
boneless hot wings (basically chicken tenders cut into pieces, duhr.) = 600 Cal.?
2 miller lites = 225 cal.

night:
grilled cheese and tomato sando. = 300 cal.
pretzel mini's, 1 serving = 110 cal

I think I managed my caloric intake fairly well....consuming massive amounts of water along the way.

Grand Total = 1435 Calories

On to a busy work day Monday, and then my first milestone, my first true test...a Tuesday morning weigh in!! I'm scared, hold me.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting

Saturday. What a day!! Never in a million years would I have thought Mitch, Chooks, and I would tear through a punk rock inspired Dodgeball tournament ($250 for 1st place, b*tches). I'm not going to gloat, but I feel like a pretty big deal right now....and then I read my daily journal...oh no...F.

Daytime:
coffee!!
bowl of potato chips = 100 cal.
candy cane = 30 cal.
triscuits and extra sharp cheddar = 150 cal.

Nightime:
2 red potatoes (diced fine, rolled in a bit of evoo and garlic) = 200 cal.
bacon, egg, and cheddar sandwich (yum, i rock) = 450 cal.?

Late nite (this is where is gets dicey):
(The below list represents a venerable 'who's who' in the world of sh*tty beers that were available to me at the Dodgeball tourney in Lakewood.)
- 2 bottles of Miller High Life; the literal champagne of beers = 220 cal.
- 2 bottles of Schlitz = 220 cal.
- 1 can of Stroh's = 110 cal.??
- 1 can Blatz (yesshh!! apparently, i was really gettin down to business) = 125 cal.??
- 1 glass of Cab Sauv = 100 cal.
- more potato chips (i really needed something to mop up this mess. grasping at straws here) = 200 cal.
- i think we mixed in a celebratory shot of PATRON too. no clue on that one: 75 cal.??

Clearly, my eating and drinking habits SUCK on the weekend. The food intake was decent...and i'm predicting that if I didn't hit the sauce, i'd probably weigh 160 lbs. I'm lost, this is disgusting...oh well, on to watch football with the boys in Coventry.

Oooooh, I almost forgot about my workout activities. I did manage a quickie 20 min. jog and 10-15 minutes on machines. PLUS, i worked my ASS off playing Dodgeball until 2:00 am. my arm feels like it's going to fall off...lol...

My grand gorilla total appears to be roughly 2000 Calories (did i total that up right?)

freakin friday food recap

Ugh, tgif, eh? Sooo, have you ever had one of THOSE days?? Ever have that feeling after leaving "the boss's office" at 11:30 am on a Friday thinking you absolutely SUCK at your job??

Despite being beat up unmercilously at work, I think i did fairly well from a food intake perspective...however, I sorta got after it a bit at happy hour. ae and i hit the tremont tap house for HH, and you just KNOW that anything you get there is going to have a sizable Calorie price tag...

Daytime:
1 glass OJ (sh*tty walmart oj, i dont recommend) = 50 Cal.
cereal bar (yep, that same generic apple) = 125 Cal.
Blackforest Ham sandwich from the Stone Oven w/ a couscous side = 450 Cal?
twix mini = 40 cal.

Night time (eff, here we go):
3 pints dogfish head 60 minute ipa = im guessing 420 Cal.
1/2 of a chicken pesto pizza = 500 cal.??
2 bottles of Budweiser = 250 cal.
1 white Russian = 'twas small, so im going to call it 120 calories
1/2 of the infamous tremont tap house gigantic soft pretzel!! = 250 cal.
1/2 glass or so Pinot Grigio = 100 cal.

Whew!! And no, im not an alcoholic, just wait until Saturday night. So, that brings me up to about a neat and tidy 2300 calories. muther eff. i'm thinking that a nice normal daily caloric goal (DCG, just made that up) should be 2000 or less....so im calling Friday a fail.

oh well, eff it, im going to the west side market to con some people out of their vegetables...

Grand Total = roughly 1875 Calories. oh joy.

Workout:
I won't lie. I hit it hard this week. 20 minutes on the treadmill next to some creepy old guy followed up by 30 or so minutes on machines. fairly uneventful, but pleasing. i think i almost pulled a hammy running.

I'm off and running, dudes. Though....I have a strange feeling that the weekend is going to kick my in the jimmy's.

Day 1 - Thursday January 14th 2010

Hi. I'm BK. Most of you know me as a sarcastic, fun loving guy who approaches the world in a very opinionated manner. I call it as I see it, so they say. I like good music, my local sports teams, and good food. I'll generally disagree with you if we're not aligned, but I remain steadfastly open minded.

Not many people are aware of the life long battle that I have waged against my weight. I became dramatically overweight by the end of my high school years, something to the tune of 260 lbs. Hell, I may be going easy of myself. However, something snapped inside of me my Freshman year at Kent State. I don't know what the hell happened, but over the course of 8 or so months, I lost 80 lbs, streaking all the way down to 180 (holla).

This would generally indicate good times. My self-confidence reached an all time high; I met hoards of new, fun, interesting people, and generally speaking, life was groovy.

Over the course of the last ten years, the ought decade if you will, I've seen my weight fluctuate up and down from this mythical 180 all the way back up to a current 220 (meh).

I'm fed the F up that I've got to do this again....and it just pisses me off.

The goal of BK's Food Log (FLOG, if I may) is for me to document EVERY SINGLE morsel of food that I shove into my mouth, in the hopes that I recant my snacking ways and lose 25 lbs. I'M GOING TO GET BACK UNDER 200...195 preferably.

That's right. This is 2010, a new year, the most cheese-tastic, perfect time to say that I'm going to lose weight.

Every day, I'm going to carry around a little spiral note pad and write down everything I eat and drink, along with a rough Calorie estimate. I also plan on documenting when and how I workout. I do already belong to the CSU rec center, so at least I have THAT going for me.

I guarantee that this will be challening, and I'm sure I'll fall off the wagon from time to time (happy hour anyone?). My sincere hope is that if I see all of my sinning on paper, I'll become a changed man.

I invite you to follow me on my journey. I invite comments, criticism, and especially advice. I'll need all the help I can from the people that matter most to me (yeah, that was also cheesy).

I started writing this stuff down today, and I have to say, Day One treated me alright!!
